| Chorley stretched their unbeaten run to six matches against Stocksbridge, but will feel that they could have come away with a win rather than a draw. The first half was pretty much end-to-end stuff, with the better chances falling to Chorley. Wilkinson and Eatock arguably had the best of them, but found Hornshaw in determined form in the Steels goal. After Colley had hit the bar for Steels, a David Eatock free kick put Chorley ahead nine minutes after the interval. However on 71 minutes Wayne Biggins sent over a cross which Green turned in, and despite the best efforts of both sides there was no further score. Incidentally, the match report on the Stocksbridge website refers to Chorley as Trafford. This must be a mix-up, as they played Trafford in their previous game, as the thought of a Yorkshireman cracking a decent joke seems a bit far-fetched.
