With our Chorley Nissan connections, how about a motor show to raise funds?

Belper Town Put On Motor Show 14th June 02/06/2008

Belper Town Football Club have organised their inaugural Belper Motor Show and Family Fun Day,
which is to be held at the Belper Town FC football ground at Christchurch Meadow, Belper, on
Saturday 14th June 2008.
The Motor Show will not only provide something of interest to the car enthusiasts within the family
but is also gearing up to provide a fun-packed day for the whole family.
At the present time, eight local motor dealers have confirmed their attendance at the event and it is
expected that over 40 new cars and vehicles will be on display at the Motor Show.
The confirmed dealerships that will be represented at the show include:
• Pentagon Motors, Derby
• GK Motors, Chesterfield
• Sunwin Motors, Derby
• Hunters Land Rover, Derby
• Inchcape Toyota, Derby
• Robins & Day, Derby
• TC Harrison Limited, Derby
• Midlands Co-op Peugeot, Alfreton
Apart from the extensive vehicle displays, a funfair will also be in place at the football ground,
including a dodgem car arena, a twister ride, other children’s rides and various side shows. The
funfair will also operate on both Thursday and Friday evenings prior to the main event.
Belper Town Juniors are also providing a number of football orientated events on the main football
pitch, including a penalty shoot-out competition and a coconut shy, to test the skills of parents and
children alike.
Plans are also in hand for a clown and a face painter to be present at the event to ensure that even
the youngest members of the family will be kept entertained throughout the day.
The Derbyshire Mental Health Services NHS Trust will also be present at the event to promote their
‘mental health awareness through football’ initiative and to sign up potential members to their new
Foundation Trust.
Refreshments will be available all day through two food outlets. A barbecue style outlet will be
located in the spectator stand on the exhibition side of the ground whilst a further food outlet selling
a wide variety of food and drinks will be available in the Nailers function suite.
The event will operate from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm. Admission will be £2.00 for each family, which will
include a full colour souvenir A4 brochure.
The principle contact for the event is David Laughlin (Belper Town FC) – 07768 010604.
