I'm so sorry guys. If you tried to get through and couldn't, the reason why it didn't work was the fact with Frickley being so far from anywhere, the 3G signal on my phone was really poor. I sometimes couldn't text it was that bad. Twitter seemed the only option. Will hopefully have it on for the Buxton game as I've just had an email from them saying they have WiFi

Thanks charnock1. Yes, it was I.

Somehow it went t*ts up midway in the second half. But I'll blame the wind for that!

I'm not going to be around on Saturday, going to a BBQ due to our amazing weather down here!

As I understand, some people were still having difficulties tuning into the radio against Worksop. Unfortnantly, without me knowing everything about the machine/device you're using, there's not much I can do. However, if you're using a Windows machine then look here for the easiest way of listening to Magpie Radio.

If you have the correct plugin installed for your browser, then the radio should start automatically. If you're using Firefox, then go to here to download the plugin.

I thought people would be happy to know we managed to get a match sponsor! :D

If you own a business, or can persuade your boss...

Then why not sponsor our next game against Stocksbridge Park Steels. For just £20, your business name will be read out at least 6 times on the audio coverage, and a logo and link put on our website.

For more details, or if you'd like to do it, please email julian.vass@magpiewatch.co.uk

Glad everyone managed to listen in yesterday as I don't think I had any comments with regards to it "not working"

Always nice to commentate on a win too.

I've managed to secure us another sponsor for both the Chasetown game on Saturday and Mondays trip to Kendal Town.

Hostchaos, the company we get the radio server from, have agreed to sponsor us for both these games. This has saved us some cost towards the radio, and we thank them for their support.

www.hostchaos.com - Please visit their website and check out their services.

Due to other commitments, our two regular interviewers can not make it to training on Thursday nights anymore. This is now your chance to get your voice over MagpieWatch and join our small team! There a few requirements for you to be able to apply for this role, you must have:

    > Your own recording device - We currently don't have one. It's something we're looking at purchasing.
    > Confidence when speaking - No point speaking to the floor whilst interviewing someone!
    > Own transport - Whether it's a lift or your own car, training is at Victory Park so you need to be able to get there

I would like to have an interview aired at half time on Saturday, so reply quick! If you thinking you can help us out, then please contact myself via PM, Facebook, Twitter or email.

When you say Jue ( or Ian ) you have no recording device, what exactly do you need? and what is the cost etc for the club to have their own jiggly bits ?

I'll be sending the newsletter out tonight at around, 11ish. Last chance to subscribe... Inside there is an interview with our very own number 1, Russ Saunders!

*NOTE* I'm not journalist, so the content of the newsletter is pretty minimal. Any comments, feedback or what-not, is appreciated!

As I am now back in Chorley... I will now aim, once again, to improve the MagpieWatch service. Hopefully, before the new season starts we shall have 2 commentators and able to provide a better service. We can only do this with your help though! You know the drill... Paypal, cheque, bank transfer or cash at games.

Paypal - donate@magpiewatch.co.uk

Cheque - PM either me or Ian Livesey for our addresses

Bank Transfer - PM either me or Ian Livesey for our information.

Cash - See either me or Ian Livesey at any game/event.

Simples!

Thanks everyone and here's to 2012/13!

Good evening ladies and gentlemen.

You will start to read this and think, "Christ! More money wanted...".

I know it's a hard thing to come by, this is why I hope you will forward this message on to your contacts and/or boss at work. Of course, an individual can help us too, but it would benefit a company with the advertisement they would receive throughout the season. It would be great for any local business to get on board with MagpieWatch, as it's a great second option to sponsoring the club. Albeit, money we get doesn't go directly to the club but if enough was created then a donation would be made through various other sponsorships they have on offer.

Well, I will get down to the money side of things really. Here is a list of items that we are looking at purchasing in order to improve the service we provide. There are of course items that aren't essential, but would improve the actual entertainment quality. I will explain next to each why they are needed. So, here goes...

Items in bold are an necessity

* Laptop (Aprox. £500) - You might be thinking, hang on a minute, they managed perfectly alright when Jue was around last time. You would be incorrect. My laptop has all my person stuff on there too, music, pictures and website crap that you don't really want to know about. Since I've been away, a little misfortune happened to it aswell so half of the keys are now missing. Now, onto Ian's laptop... Where to begin? Those that know about technology, Ian's is still stuck in the 1980s, no offence meant to Mr Livesey. It has managed to do the job whilst I have been away, but what most people don't know is that when down in Plymouth, half of the workload was done by myself. You may have noticed, if I wasn't around for a game, then comments wouldn't be done much, sometimes not at all. This is part of the service that makes it enjoyable, the banter we get between teams and the comments that we can discuss throughout the game too. I will stop banging on about that now, but as you can probably tell, a dedicated "MagpieWatch Laptop" would be spot on as it would contain nothing apart from what was needed for our service.

* Audio Mixer (Aprox. £100 or less) - Yes, we're back to this whole trick again. You may have noticed that it's not in bold, well it could be, but we thought as it only increases entertainment value and not actual quality I thought maybe it's a later investment. As most of you know, the only way to get two people talking through the radio (Unless it's done the way Ian did it when Jack Dorney was with us) is to have an audio mixer with two headsets going in and yada yada...

* Mobile Broadband (Aprox £30 per month) - As you are probably aware by now, the amount I bang on about this, the connection to the world wide web is done via a mobile phone. This is Ian's personal phone, his "contract" ect... It would be idea if we had mobile broadband package to back up his phone. If a) It decides to give in b) Signal is not good enough c) He needs it for an emergency.

* Donations (Give me your bank details!) - Aside from the stuff we need, there is a small price to pay each month for our hosting, anything that's left over is used to pay for anything that's needed. There hasn't been enough in there for us to actually purchase the items above, so that's why we're still asking. If everyone chipped in, say a fiver a week, that would be astounding given our user numbers. Note: I am not suggesting that people did this, as I know it's hard to 1) Commit to it 2) It's nice to have a free service. We are not Chester, we will never ask people to pay each game or for a "season ticket", Club Network Player can go do one as far as I'm concerned, plus I think Locki would have something to say about that.

I'll stop boring you now, thank you for reading my garbage. If you would like anymore information, I am available on here, Facebook, Twitter ect. ect. Details are easily found out...

Bye!

Thanks for the donations from the Magpies Trust, Paul and Sheila and one from Mark to go under Magpies In Space.

Them three donations have just covered a whole 12 months cost of hosting to ensure our future. Thanks!
