Sure is wasn't Mike Garside? He played about three times for us the season before flitty took over - he was very average at best!!!

Said his name was Andy. But Mike could be his other name. Said he played on the right side of midfield. So you could be right. He said it was before Flitcroft and they were in Unibond first division. Was for Info.

'Football Web Pages' reporting that Laquane Esdaille has joined Clitheroe ( Doesn't state if this
is the dual-registration previously reported :?: )

Probably trio-registered with us (Conference), Clitheroe (Evo-Stick) and Bacup (North West Counties), as all three clubs in difference competitions.

Will be better for us if he does return as he'll be playing at a better standard with Clitheroe than at Bacup.

Chris Thompson, who played for us in 2005/06 season, and now Colwyn Bay reserve team manager, has been appointed North Wales County FA Under 18 manager.

He was a good player, a rarity in those dark days. I remember him scoring the winner at Clitheroe on Boxing Day. Also playing that day were Jamie Vermiglio and Adam Roscoe.

Was that the 'Gazza goal', where he flicked it over a defender before smashing it in? A top player who, just like Vermo, was far too good for us at the time consider the majority of he rank awful squad(s) we had back then.

This chap was responsible/to blame, for me starting to watch Chorley. I remember being very suprised when The Magpies signed a player who only a season or two earlier was 1st choice keeper for Liverpool and Scotland. I think in his first two games he let in six goals. A 3-3 draw at home to Formby, then an epic 8-3 away win at New Mills. Good old Tommy.

Mulli (James Mullieux) has put on facebook that he has retired- was a great player for Chorley fc in the day before Flitcroft's arrival.

Agree with you,Reco -one for whom "wore his heart on his sleeve" was always appropriate. Best memory -scoring a superb volleyed winner at Mossley. :D - Most unfortunate -being judged to have handballed a shot while lying prone in the box at VP-never forgiven that ref!

James Mullineux, was one of our better players during that period largely due to his work rate and commitment which I for one always appreciated and was a little surprised he left when he did as I thought he still had something to offer.

I must say though, it is a sobering thought to hear a player, I'm sure was in his teens when he first appeared for Chorley, now retiring. It certainly makes me feel old anyway.

Meanwhile Proya Amahdi was playing for Mossley today whilst butter fingered disaster Andy Robertson was in goal for Witton. It was reported on here a while back that Paul Wolcott had gone to Warrington, but I've not seen any mention of him in their tweets, team sheets or match reports.

See Shelton Payne's stay at FC Utd was brief, he is now playing for Ossett Town, will he ever find his way back to Wales? :D
