Sefton

For those that didn't go last night- Sefton went off injured with about 5 min left holding his stomach. So he must now be a doubt or a risk for the next few games. I don't know if Alex is or isn't still able to play for us but surely the in will be looking to bring in a striker this week if he isn't.

Think most people would agree that we are really short of a decisive finisher do need Alex or a new signing fairly urgently. Can't be good that Sefton has what appears to be a recurrence of his last injury.

Alex is still eligible to play for us - he's on an open loan agreement. He was missing for Guiseley as he was playing for the Bolton Wanderers U23s

Metz. Fair enough if he is still eligible but as someone said on another thread, he played for boltons u18's on Saturday not their u23's and the u18's have fixtures virtually every Saturday

http://www.bwfc.co.uk/fixtures-results/ ... -fixtures/

So that's obviously an issue. I can certainly see boltons point because in 3 games he probably only got about 20-30mins of game time. So it's hardly experience for him is it? Obviously I'm reading between the lines but Bolton obviously thought that playing for their u18's was more beneficial than a 10min cameo for us. Or Jansen decided that Sefton was a better option than Alex and said he didn't need him. Who knows- we get told very little!

I suspect Bolton are thinking that we should either 'use' him or 'loose' him and to be honest they are right and we can't keep annoying teams that help us it. Rittenberg all over again.

Personally I do think that last post is a bit unfair.

Alex is only a youngster, I wouldn't expect him to get a full, or even half a game. Yes he's done very well when he came on but let's be serious here this is a tough and physical league so any longer than the time he was allowed and who knows what would have happened? Not sure how the registration works, but we may see him play at Leyland in February if the agreement lasts that long.

Maybe it is a bit unfair jue.

But let's remember that this lad has already made his first team debut for Bolton in the championship. His age is irrelivent really. Look at Lewis hardcastle he was on loan at Salford last season and he played a big part in their cup run and league success last year aged just 17. Matt keeps banging on about these development squad players but if he won't put some trust in the likes of Alex then what chance have they?

From my point of view the Stafford game would have been an ideal game to give him a go from the start. I'm only stating facts! He played for the under 18's so either Matt didn't want him last week or Bolton wanted him to get some game time.

My original post was about us being light upfront going into 3 massive games. That still stands.

Old saying in football if your good enough your old enough, the lad is deadly our current strike force aren't, I am not trying to sound unfair we have very good hard working forwards but no one who can get a goal out of nothing, or then again maybe we have sat on the bench, plenty of top class footballers have come through at his age, our own manager couldn't have been much older when he got his debut at Carlisle.

Can't say I am surprised but I am disappointed, was delighted we signed him but he just only seems to be settled when at Clitheroe. Oh well, suppose we have to get someone in now. COYM

I am sure Alex played for Bolton in the pre season friendly against us - certainly caught my eye and looked very decent

Hows this for an idea - he is here to replace Gonzales, who has a 'mystery injury'. My guess is Gonzales has played his last game for us.

Charnock1 you certainly are the king of hindsight, can you predict the winners of the 1966 world cup?

I've read that he left 'by mutual consent'. When I was in my teens & broke up with a girlfriend it was usually by mutual consent - usually more mutual on one side than the other. So, does anybody know if it was the club, or Sefton, who actually instigated the parting of ways?

"Ian Livesey"

Has left Chorley FC

Identical to last season at Stockport ... Signed On-Contract, Bombed out by Christmas, Never a NLN Striker ( Despite
some CFC fans seemingly thinking they had watched Diego Costa play against us for Clitheroe :P )

'Mutual Termination' does free up some budget towards acquiring a quality striker ... I wonder who ?

According to the Evo-Stik League News section of the Lancaster City programme that i purchased on Thursday night
'this week Colne signed much travelled Sefton Gonzales from Stockport County'
No mention of the 6 months he spent at Chorley lol

Sefton did not play for Colne last night nor was he listed in their team sheet. It was nice to watch my namesake Jack Lynch again though and also 2 familiar faces in Jordan Connerton and Paul Jarvis (playing for Lancaster City)

Maybe he didn't play for Colne because he was linking up with Stalybridge.
