Boxing Day walk to Fylde update

Postby mark » Thu Dec 29, 2016 8:55 pm

Four members of Chorley Supporters Trust walked all the way from Victory Park to Mill Farm on Boxing Day to raise money for Galloway's Society for the Blind, Friends for you and our own Fan Ownership Fund.

Dave, John Paul, Chris and Mark set off at 6:30, and we passed Irongate, destination of many a sponsored walk in years gone by, before taking breakfast in Preston. A long walk up the Lancaster Canal took us most of the way there before a few miles on back roads into Wesham and to Mill Farm, a most welcome sight after 20 miles.

If you went to the match you probably saw us rattling our buckets outside the turnstiles of the away end. Thanks to everyone who dropped some coins in - we collected over £170 on the day. And thank you also to the 68 people who have sponsored us so far. We have now raised £2125, which is 85% of the way to our target of £2500.

Fundraising is open until January 6th, so if you have been meaning to donate but not got round to it yet, there's still plenty of time. If you can spare anything it will be most gratefully received. Just click on the link below, or call at the Trust table on New Year's Day.

Donations can be made via local giving for another three days.

Monies raised to date stands at £ 2312

The four walkers did a sterling job to walk from Chorley FC to Mill farm on Boxing day and half the money raised is going to two local good causes, if you was planning on making a donation then that would be tremendous, in looking to get to the £2500 target.

Many thanks.
