Was the referee right or wrong to do this???

The referee was 100% wrong. If he had done that to a player then fine, the bloody stewards weren't going to stop him at the speed they were jogging.

The referee was 100% right. Players are not allowed to assault anybody including spectators even if they are streakers on the pitch. The stewards are the people responsible for removing misbehaving spectators.

In my opinion he was trying to help catch the streaker so wouldnt be a SO offence, but then it is the refs choice. Dunno if Wrasse will agree with me. but I want to know is why is he on the pitch for at least 13 second before Stewards are on the pitch

Probably for the same reason that four stewards stood by and watched Chester supporters tear down a fence without doing anything about it.

Back to the clip, I'm sure the player was trying to help catch the straker but that is the stewards job. Players are not allowed to indulge in violent conduct on the pitch.

agree with jeff,i dont know any rules in football where players can tackle fans(or go after fans tackle) :lol:
