Monday's home defeat (0-4) to Nantwich Town effectively condemned the Tigers to a third consecutive relegation. Barring an outrageously big win in their final match, they have no hope at all of survival. They proudly claim on the website to be a 'fan-owned' club but one can't help wondering if somehow financial constraints have contributed to this latest fall. It is unbelievable that Hyde were in the Conference three seasons ago and were completely unable to stop the rot when they dropped into National North where they endured another dreadful campaign last season. This term they looked to be at least holding their own in the Evo-Stik NPl only to suffer a major slump in 2016. Just goes to show how crucial it is to build a solid platform and then make sure to maintain it. We wouldn't want to return to the lower level ourselves and Hyde have my sympathy.

Following in the footsteps of another Tameside club in Droylsden just the year before last.

Money (or lack of it) is the reason for their downfall too

To add to this, they took over the club quickly so how prepared they where is questionable.
