Yep, that truly is a great miss, but there's plenty more where that come from! Look at this! ...

On Ian's You Tube link, I think the fifth one features an ex Chorley player missing the penalty and injuring(!) himself in the process! Can't remember his name but maybe one of you lot can!

Without looking, I would guess Peter devine playing for Lancaster City!

I remember him coming from Vancouver Whitecaps and I thought he was great (I was only about 8 years old tho').

As alot of you know, my capacity for remembering specific details relating to my patchy 20 years watching Chorley are not great. However, I'm sure my teenage years were scarred by Chorley being denied a home game against Arsenal by a similar incident in a torrid night at Gay Meadow, Shrewsbury in the FA Cup. Is this just my sub-conscious attempting to console my bitter memories of this cup - run?

Cue: John Blackburn...

Sorry, David, I meant Gay Meadow the football ground. I don't want to know of your other "happy memories".

Nope, it wasn't Arsenal. It was in fact Watford. Arsenal was to come in the fifth round when we beat Wimbledon in the 4th round.

And for Julie and everyone elses sake, all three were penalties.

Thanks Ryan, FBS is a relation of mine, but is not me!! Next time you meet FBS, you must ask him all about that night at Gay Meadow - I think he saw about 20 minutes of the game if he was lucky!!!

I think it was more like 15 minutes...........missed kick off due to coach getting lost, missed goal due to being late, saw 15 minutes and then, well the rest is history.

Sorry David, too many Blackburns. Seems like you're the Chorley equivalent of the Glazers - bloody 'undereds of 'em.
