Agree, Tempie -think we need a good winger and a predatory goalscorer instead.

On another angle -guess the person being quoted:
"There’s been little for supporters to get excited about yet but the boss is happy to play the waiting game – as it served them so well last summer.

“We took our time last year and we have to make sure we get the right kind of characters in the building,”

“We did it throughout the season last season as well and it is very important.

“Financially we cannot afford to waste our money and throw big contracts around, but when the right kind of player and character comes along we’ll try and get them in.

“As long as we take our time and do our research properly, the right players will come along,”

Answer -Matt? Vermo? No - John Eustace at Kidderminster.

Just demonstates that Salford, Harrogate etc "splashing the cash" is not the only way. I'm happy to let the management team take the right decisions.

Winger?
With Challoner doing so well,
why not use Azam out wide up front?

Or Myers? And introduce u21 strikers as they look quite lively.

Genuinely, why not? Are you suggesting that we looked a better side and more like scoring when JS was suspended towards the end of the season?

No I'm suggesting that we didn't look like scoring with or without him in the side. He's too similar to carver and neither of them score enough goals. I'd keep carver based on his work rate. We desperately need pace upfront and a right winger to allow us to change the system and have a plan b. So no I wouldn't be rushing to sign jack Sampson.

Good to have news at last of a signing! Is striker Josh Wilson the 28-years-old former Fylde and latterly Telford player? If so, I note that he scored Telford's goal here at VP in March when they lost 1-2. His powerful strike from distance which took a deflection past Ritchie Branagan at least showed that he can truly hit a ball and I would imagine that in Matt's team he will add to his reputation as a proven goalscorer. Let's hope for more good news soon about both the current squad re-signings and the arrival of a new player or two including that elusive midfield playmaker.
