Can anyone tell me what's happened to Louis Myers? Or did I miss something?

No idea! Even if he is still with us I think we can assume that Matt doesn't fancy him as a 1st team player. Same goes for the rest of the development squad. Sad really.

No sorry I cant see any point whatsoever. I said all this last season and was called a moaner! I didn't even see Jansen at any of the games.

I have to say I'm puzzled, young players don't seem to be required by the management. Surely the development squad exists to do just that -develop young players to feed into the first team squad. Yet there seems to be a policy to ignore this system and sign players from elsewhere.
I'm in no position to criticise and if the management want to work that way then fine. I just wonder why the club persist with the development set up if it is never going to be used as progression into the first team.

I hope they are taking it seriously.
A lot of money was pledged by supporters to the Supporters Trust last season specifically to help the development squad.

Ed and Andrew. I'm not going to put on here what Louis said but it's safe to say he feels the same way. When we started charging an entry fee to development games I posted on here basically saying that I hoped it wasn't costing us money as a club because I couldn't see Matt Jansen using the players and it was a waste of funds, time and effort. That's never been more evident than now. As far as I'm aware not a single lad from last years development squad has featured in a preseason game for us. What sort of message does that send out? They won their league and they don't even get looked at but yet we are quite happy to trial andy Owens who's two clubs last year both got relegated miserably. Just scrap it and use the money elsewhere

To me this is worrying. No team that I know from the Premier League downward ignore youth. Where is the desire to take a risk on young players? When was a young player last given a chance to shine? Also bringing on young players then moving them to higher levels should be a part of an established way of funding clubs like Chorley. Where I live, a local club ( Folkestone Invicta) have in the last two seasons brought on two very young players (who made a massive impact) and then moved them on to Hull and Millwall creating decent income in the process and importantly, helped their careers to progress.

Another thing is that we never seem to sign trialists. I think Steve Waywell was the last manager to actually sign someone who turned up unsigned in pre season. I feel a bit sorry for the hopefuls who turn up to try and impress, and there have been some decent ones in my opinion, (Alex Newby for one), because we could all probably name the starting line up v Kiddeminster right now.

Dulwich Hamlet make about 100k per year selling on young players to league clubs. It's a virtuous cycle - talented young players know they will be in the shop window if they join Dulwich.
Sometimes last season (but NOT the playoffs) Chorley looked tired. Rotation using u21s against midtable teams would lower the overall skill level of the Magpies slightly but maybe not as much as some think as preferredfirst teamers left out for a game or two should come back refreshed to play fellow playoff contenders.

I think you will find many well run clubs operate this way. I agree Ed, taking an occasional chance on young talented players will eventually reap benefits. It would also make it more exciting for the fans and create a buzz- dare I say it, like when Louis Myers first appeared on the scene!

Ironic or maybe just v bad luck. Jordan Darr plays well - a chance to make the 1st team - then breaks his wrist in 3 places....

His doctor has told him not to go to those three places again.

I see he turned out for them as a sub in their last game. How has he ended up at a Highland League club?
That's more or less the same level as he was at when he was here. Have his family moved up there or something?
Is he still attached to Chorley, or is that it -gone forever? He seemed a very promising lad, did he not fit in?
